Unbridled fun with metal damage

For over 40 years, the cult ensemble "Blechschaden" has been touring the world and creating exuberant cheers. On Saturday, February 22, 2025, Blechschaden will be performing at the Concert and Congress Hall in Bamberg - the concert starts at 8 pm. Blechschaden is the self-proclaimed world-famous "fun faction" of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra led by its witty and quirky founder Bob Ross. The instrumental virtuosos have been pulling out all the stops with their brass instruments since they were founded in 1984. With each of their performances, they show that all kinds of music, whether pop or opera, musical or classical symphony, can be a pleasure.

In their new program for the 2025 tour, the philharmonic "foreign legionnaires" also mix completely different musical genres into a highly entertaining cocktail of melodies, garnished with relaxed and lively moderations and interludes. Between pieces, their Scottish conductor and horn player Bob Ross in particular proves that not only the baton but also the microphone is in good hands and generously reaches into the humor box. Whether "classical, but with humor" ("Nessun dorma" from Puccini's opera "Turandot"), musical hits "in brass" ("I Don't Know To Love Him" from Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar") or a suddenly orchestral pop anthem ("Earth, Wind and Blechschaden Fire"): For all the serious professionalism with which the musicians master their instruments, the Echo Klassik prizewinners always focus on one thing: giving the audience fun with and around the music.
