One of the German scene's cornerstones shares the booth with two local upstarts for night of thrilling Techno: Chris Liebing, SloMo, and Sylwa ignite the groove.

Long gone are the days when Chris Liebing was only associated with the infamous, hard-hitting sound he coined decades ago. From the thunderous grooves he played in Frankfurt's clubs such as Omen and U60311 to running his own labels, Chris Liebing has long proven his versatile approach and appeal, with delicate and introspective releases on imprints like the well-respected MUTE label. And in 2024? Catch a well-matured yet passionate-as-ever Chris Liebing, drawing on decades of multifaceted musical experience for a night of grand grooves and faithful techno at Blitz Club.

Stepping up for his BLITZ floor debut is the local Sylwa: our passionate light jockey is a dedicated vinyl-only aficionado who's been making his first marks in the local scene over the last few months. With a penchant for infectious backbeats, his set promises a ride through what he considers the > golden era < of Techno: from 1994 to 2004, spanning from Birmingham to Napoli, from Dub Techno to funky and deep cuts. Sylwa will set the stage accordingly. Local talent SloMo, founder of Como Records, plays sleek and functional contemporary Techno with charismatic understatement. He's proven a delicate understanding and handling of slow-burning, soundscape-focused streaks of dance music on his > textured adventure < mixes.

Chris Liebing has constantly evolved since the days when he made Frankfurt's Omen and U60311 shake. He has long since moved beyond the hard, uncompromising sound he once coined. Today, Liebing shows anuanced and reflective side. His releases on labels such as MUTE demonstrate an affinity for depth and musical breadth. But his sets are anything but nostalgic. He plays blazing, spacious techno with esprit, paying tribute to his formative past while remaining firmly anchored in the present.

Sylwa makes his debut on the BLITZ floor on this club night. The vinyl enthusiast has been seen and heard more and more often in the city in recent months. He describes the years between 1994 and 2004 as the > Golden Years < of techno and they form the foundation of his sound. Influenced by Birmingham and Naples, he plays his way through deep, dubby and funky grooves, with a great preference for backbeats.

SloMo, founder of Como Imprints, plays sleek and functional techno with charismatic understatement. He incorporates meandering rhythms and sounds with feeling and skill and demonstrates a stylistically confident knack for spherical timbres, which he proves time and again on his successful > textured adventure < mixes.
