Blues Festival Siegen

In January 2024, the four musical brothers and their formation celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Reitz Brothers Band. In the years of concerts together, Frank "Rizze", Guido "Goidl", Benno and Ralph have performed in a wide variety of line-ups on stages in the Siegerland region and beyond. And they are far from finished. With a horn section and gospel backing, the local heroes will be presenting the best of 50 years at the Blues Festival Siegen 2025!

Sean "Mack" McDonald

Sean McDonald is an impressive 23-year-old singer and guitarist with a strong stage presence. Like his famous predecessors, he unfurls his musical notes with astonishing ease and adds an extra soul element.

Whenever "Mack" steps away from the microphone, his energetic blues melodies radiate from the guitar. Under the spotlights, McDonald and his shimmering guitar command the room with every note.

His talent was soon recognized and picked up by prestigious festivals such as the Lucerne Blues Festival in Switzerland, the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise in the USA and several venues in Europe and South Africa, where his very first tour has already taken him.

McDonald sheds light on the influence of the blues: "A lot of people think the blues is dead. It's not dead; it's just changed form. Blues is a basic form of all music and it's important that people recognize the roots of their favorite genres. The blues has stood the test of time. It was very important to us then and it still is today."

The fan base among well-known blues musicians is growing. Taj Mahal, Junior Watson, Kim Wilson, Kirk Fletcher and Kid Andersen are great advocates of the young Sean. They are all convinced that Sean will be one of the important blues musicians of the future.

With Sean "Mack" McDonald, a young musician enters the international stage who brings the blues into the 21st century in a unique way.
