Blues from the Polar Circle meets Blues from Cologne

In the organizer's words:

On November 22, 2024 at 8 pm, the second concert in the KNEIPENSOUNDS series will take place in the Lindenhof at Leopold-Freter-Straße 10 in Hürth-Efferen. The concert series was launched in 2023 and brings live music to our pubs in Hürth two to three times a year. The organizer, EMJAY PROJECTS, is co-organizer of the Hürther KneipenKulTour. "We also wanted to support gastronomy outside of the KneipenKulTour and revitalize nightlife in Hürth," says Marco Jansen, owner of the agency for culture, events and artists.
Admission to the concert is free. However, the donation box will go round to cover the costs.

And now to the music:

LARRY DOC WATKINS comes from West Virginia and has been living and working in Germany for around 15 years. He began singing in local clubs in the mid-nineties with great success. He has worked on stage with Bernard Allison, Matchbox Blues Band, Manfred Häder Band, Groove Syndicate, Gregor Hilden, Johnny Rogers, Tom Knauer, and P.C. Byrant, among others. Stylistically, he can be categorized as a pithy blues singer who enjoys the standards from Chicago (Mojo, Hoochie Coochie Man) as much as soul songs (Dock of the Bay) or rare blues songs like Howling For My Darling.

EDDIE KOLD learned his craft in Chicago on the blues scene of the ghetto bars where he toured Europe and the States and Canada with ZORA YOUNG, among others. with JUNIOR WELLS, SUGAR BLUE and BILLY BRANCH (all harmonica), VANCE KELLY, SON SEALS, BUDDY SCOTT, PHIL GUY (all guitar) or with the singers TYRONE DAVIS, OTIS CLAY, ARTIE BLUES BOY WHITE or ALVIN CASH. He also studied classical guitar at the University of Frankfurt.

TERHO KESKITAPIO plays guitar and sings. He comes from Rovaniemi/Lapland and is coming to Germany with his partner HANNU RAUDASKOSKI (bass) as a cultural ambassador for Lapland. In addition to blues, Terho has released 2 jazz-influenced CDs. In his youth he was influenced by the hard heavy metal playing style.

On drums CHRISTIAN WÜBBEN, who has several CD releases to his credit in his regular band EDRMÖBEL.

And, of course, KLAUS BRUNSCHEDE, bass player with the Eddie Kold Band.

In his luggage will be the CD releases "Chicago Blues Heaven" and "Chicago Alley Blues" on L&R-Records by the Eddie Kold Band and the CD release "Drifting" by Terho Keskitapio.
