Bobby Alu on tour in Germany from October

When Bobby Alu was on tour with us last fall, he had happiness in his luggage. Plus the Australian sun, the Pacific beach of his home on the Gold Coast, a lot of humor and, of course, his amazing music. This sound, which alternates between soul and reggae, roots and Polynesian rhythms, pop attitude and laid-back relaxation, is second to none for the Australian with roots in Samoa. No wonder Radio Australia invented the new genre Pacific Reggae Tunes for him. You could already sense this when he was still Xavier Rudd's percussionist and accompanied him on his tours with us. The rhythm is the foundation, the voice lets the sun shine into the hearts, the ukulele brings the South Sea flair and the audience the enthusiasm. Alu has recorded his songs on a number of albums since 2010, most recently with "Keep It Tropical", a record with an almost programmatic title. Keeping it tropical means keeping things in perspective, spreading positivity without glossing over the hard stuff and giving people a sense of community. He achieves this with his songs, especially when he's on stage. It's not for nothing that he enjoys a reputation as a world-class performer. And confirms it every time anew. Anyone who has experienced one of his concerts in the past year can certainly confirm this: Music has the power to bring people together, to turn a group of strangers into a celebrating crowd of friends. That's probably the best thing you can say about the Australian's shows. If you haven't experienced it, you'll get another chance this October when Bobby Alu returns to transform the dark autumn into a Pacific spring.
