Böll walk from the Südtstadt to the Agnesviertel

We start at the house where Heinrich Böll was born in Südstadt. Following in the footsteps of his childhood and youth, we walk through the Severinsviertel to St. Maria im Kapitol, his favorite church. What was Böll's relationship to Cologne and the Catholic Church? We talk about this at St. Cäcilien and St. Peter's. The Heinrich Böll Archive is right next door. We continue through the city center to the WDR. Heinrich Böll became famous as a writer after the war with Group 47. At the deserter's memorial, we immerse ourselves in his literary work and question the reception of the Nobel Prize winner in West Germany. We reach the Agnesviertel via the Eigelstein. Böll's last place of residence in Cologne was in Hülchrather Straße - a nice end to our Böll hike.
