First published in 1922, the novella "Letter from an Unknown Woman" describes a young woman's problematic obsession with a successful writer who is unable to have a relationship through a subtle, timeless psychological sketch.
Stefan Zweig's story not only raises questions about traditional role models, but also addresses the patriarchal structure of traditional relationships and reflects Zweig's own relationship with people, including figures from the artistic and cultural life of the war and interwar periods.
By interweaving the narrative with newly composed music by Danielle Lurie and texts written by the ensemble, the timelessness of the text is shown and a feminist appeal is formulated.
