75 years of Bayerischer Rundfunk

Self-organization of the system: The principles of unpredictability and intuition characterize Bernhard Lang's GAME series, which began in 2016 and whose musical language is characterized by the looping of musical motifs, phrases and entire sections - inspired by reading Gilles Deleuze's groundbreaking philosophical work Différence et répétition. Each of the works goes through a certain number of "rounds" in which various "models" or "cells" are available for selection and the musicians themselves decide on the sequence.

The latest composition in this series is Bernhard Lang's orchestral piece GAME 18 Radio Loops, created for the 75th anniversary of Bayerischer Rundfunk, based on historical pause signals from various European radio stations ... read more
