Sea-Eye information stand and photo exhibition on the topic of sea rescue in the Mediterranean with screening of the "Mediterranean Monologues" by Wort und Herzschlag and discussion round with speakers and audience
Sea-Eye photo exhibition 4 to 8 p.m.
Screening of Mediterranean Monologues 6-7 p.m. followed by a round table discussion
The Mediterranean Monologues tell the story of the politically resistant Selma and Joe, who find themselves on a boat to Europe, of brutal "coast guards" and dubious sea rescue centers and of activists who oppose the dying in the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean Monologues are documentary, verbatim theater based on interviews lasting several hours. Real cases of sea rescue are reconstructed, told from the perspective of those affected and activists.
Sea rescue - this exhibition aims to show what this means and the various dimensions it involves in around 40 pictures taken on rescue missions by the Sea-Eye organization. Sea-Eye has been active in the Mediterranean since 2015 with ships financed by donations to rescue people in distress at sea. The exhibition shows the various stages of the rescue missions, which usually last several weeks.
