Buchpremiere: Fremde Einkehr

In the organizer's words:

Reading in the foyer

Fremde Einkehr tells of the glitter in the cracks - of how a given foreignness is increasingly transformed into a written-lived return to Hebrew-Jewish culture and the land of Israel. The driving force behind this rapprochement is the sister language. Hebrew poems also fill this book. Euphoric notes from the artists' quarter in the desert town of Mitzpe Ramon in spring 2022 are set against the "Reflections from the proximity of grief" after the massacre of October 7, which were written in Bat Jam in December 2023. In this play of light and shadow between the cactus tree and remnants of romantic songs, there are also love poems and lyrical explorations of writing that are detached from these concrete references. In this way, the individual and the Jewish meet in the literarily created realm of signs.

The discussion with Gundula Schiffer will be led by Cologne writer Peter Rosenthal.

The publisher Ralf Liebe will talk about the work and the program of his publishing house and print shop in Weilerswist, where books have been produced for over 30 years.
