Cathy van Eck and two of her master's students from the Master Contemporary Art Practice and Master Composition Creative Practice courses at Bern University of the Arts will perform the first evening concert on the opening day of the festival. Each of the three composers has a piece with them, which they will perform themselves. The music will be accompanied by visual and theatrical elements.

The first piece by Matthias Müller gathers the audience around the performer, who moves on or in a floor projection. Text and gestures are delicately mixed with image and sound recordings, as well as live sounds.

Cathy van Eck's April Sky is about everything that moves in the air and in the sky - and how we humans influence this. Birds, airplanes, drones ... In this performative piece, loudspeaker sounds move through the space with the composer.

Markus Aebersold's piece concludes the concert with a set-up of 5 large glass vessels. Air bubbles are produced in each vessel with the help of small pumps. This creates a composition that impresses both the ears and the eyes.
