Jia Zhang-ke is the cinematic chronicler of modern China. In his latest work, his muse Zhao Tao travels through a country on the move between 2001 and 2023. Her character, the model Qiaoqiao, is searching for Brother Bin, who left the provincial town of Datong to make a career as a businessman. But it turns out that Qiaoqiao is better able to cope with the changes in the country than her great love. A dreamy, fragmentary love story full of music and documentary images from two decades.
