CCOSMO – München, Backstage

CCOSMO is a pop singer - and yet the opposite of the 'German pop singer' cliché. The twenty-six-year-old Berliner-by-choice is not a cardboard cutout with a preconceived image, not the type of talent show winner who unquestioningly adopts the lyrics of some songwriter, not an influencer who suddenly makes music at the peak of his engagement. Rather, CCOSMO is a creative mastermind, a seeker, a survivor full of ingenuity. Self-taught through and through and driven by a D.I.Y. spirit, the all-round artist has actually always been inside him - CCOSMO was first a producer, then an editor, then a lyricist. If you were to ask him about his career, he would use the term "coincidence" in the second sentence at the latest - he is not a self-promoter, not an impostor, not an alpha animal either, more someone who just does instead of talking too much, a nice, open and funny guy. Someone who is surrounded by a wide circle of old acquaintances. Someone who lets himself be driven by life without forgetting to question himself along the way. His lyrics are characterized by self-searching and reflection - always personal, always authentic, often almost diary-like and free of posturing or pathos. Musically, CCOSMO has found his niche at the interface between atmospheric German pop, alternative and rap attitude. The melodies are as simple as they are catchy, the tempos vary, sometimes R&B influences make their way in, sometimes his sound is reminiscent of contemporary dreampop.
