BRÄUTE DES WINDES - Women in Surrealism
Bettina Marugg - voice, Norbert Rodenkirchen - flute, Albrecht Maurer - violin
ROCHUS AUST Live Remix
BRÄUTE DES WINDES - Frauen im Surrealismus" is a sound performance with own compositions and improvisations on texts by the surrealists Leonora Carrington, Mina Loy, Meret Oppenheim and Alejandra Pizarniak.
The suggestive texts of these strong women, who unfortunately were far too often overshadowed by the men of the time, inspired Albrecht Maurer and Norbert Rodenkirchen to create their own compositions. The subtle use of loopers expands both the poetic spectrum of the chamber music and the ambiguous texts, which are brought back to life by Bettina Marugg's recitations. She speaks, plays and sings and shows in an unmistakable way the great inspirational power of the surrealist poets for our time.
Rochus Aust on his project:
So what to do with the remix in the outgoing year 2024?
I will sleep while the brides sing.
I will dream of the humming loop, of the earth, of the animals and all the rest.
My instruments will be a mattress, a paper shredder and all kinds of wind machines.
My sleep lab will record everything.
Before I wake up, my assistant will hand you the remix of what I have just dreamed.
Please turn off your mobile devices completely and put aside your belief in religions and your disbelief in time machines for the duration of the performance.
