Charity New Year's swim at Blackfoot Beach - The most refreshing start to the new year!

What better way to start the new year than with an unforgettable experience? Join the charity New Year's bathing event organized by the Cologne ice bathing community ICYU in cooperation with the Freigehege experience collective - an event that invigorates body, mind and good intentions in equal measure!

Whether you're an experienced ice swimmer or venturing into the cold water for the first time, you can expect lots of fun, goosebumps and a unique community. After a short introduction by experts Christoph and Maarten, we'll dive into the new year together.

What you get:

Your swim ticket costs €10 and does double good: at least €5 goes directly as a donation to the Cologne Cold Bus, which supports those in need during the cold months. You can also expect:

• A certificate of participation as a memento of your courageous adventure
• A hot tea to warm you up
• Access to the heated OBI MachBar for cozy conversations after ice bathing

What you should bring with you:

• Comfortable, warm clothing and hat
• Swimwear & towel
• Optional: bathing shoes or neoprene socks
• A good mood and the courage to start the new year with an adrenaline kick!

When and where?

• 14h check-in at Blackfoot Beach
• approx. 14.30 introduction and joint swim-in
• until 17h cozy get-together with tea and good conversation

Safety on site:

With lifeguards from the Freigehege team, Maarten as ice bathing expert and Christoph as doctor and ice bathing expert, we will ensure your safety on site. You should be fit and healthy to take part. In order to participate, you must sign a disclaimer on site.

Participation is not recommended in the case of serious heart disease and cardiac arrhythmia, severe high blood pressure, epilepsy, pregnancy, cold allergy, Raynaud's syndrome type 2, severe asthma and COPD. If you are unsure, please consult your doctor beforehand.
