Christina Stürmer "MTV unplugged"

The Vienna Volkstheater had its dazzling musical spectacle: Christina Stürmer and her MTV Unplugged ensemble in two acts thrilled the audience extraordinarily.

She performed her numerous hits in sometimes delicate, sometimes colorfully packaged, but previously unheard acoustic garb. Her voice in particular comes across even more clearly and remarkably. Austria's most successful singer visibly and audibly enjoys this challenge. The surprise guests at last summer's recording were Deine Freunde, Wolfgang Ambros, Mathea, Ursula Strauss and Sportfreunde Stiller.

Just like the first single from her debut album in 2003, "Ich lebe" was released as the first song from the upcoming album "Christina Stürmer: MTV Unplugged in Wien" - the album is being released these days. And finally Christina Stürmer will be seen live again in 2024 on a tour through Austria & Germany.

A young, rebellious singer from Linz, with enormous drive and great dynamism, makes an unconventional statement in a casting show final in 2003 that will have a decisive positive influence on her future. She simply sings the song of her dreams - even if it means she misses out on victory. The result: an unprecedented success story that could not have been written in a better dramatic way.

20 years later, Christina Stürmer can look back on a strong musical career: 7 number 1 albums, 11 Amadeus Award wins, thousands of sold-out concerts, etc. And now: an MTV unplugged album, recorded in the venerable Volkstheater in Vienna. At her side are close and important artists, who, together with Christina Stürmer, represent a very special emotional range of her musical talent. Mathea ("Scherbenmeer") and Sportfreunde Stiller ("Ein Kompliment") were among the performers.

A wonderful ambience, musically excellently staged by a wind ensemble & a 4-piece backing choir, grand piano & vibraphone - the result was dreamlike, floating songs and storms of enthusiasm from the audience.
