Circus and music festival VAN LESSEN & Friends with Jokes

Circus and music somehow belong together, don't they? There you go: The 'VAN LESSEN & Jokes' circus and music festival aims to do just that: Local young talents present their circus and musical program on 15.06.2024 between 15:00 and 21:00 on the circus square of the Circus School Jokes in Bremen with an extremely interesting hands-on and adventure program.
In cooperation with Circus School Jokes, initiator Ingo van Lessen would like to provide a stage for both young and old to showcase their talents in a wonderful atmosphere.
In addition to small shows by circus artist Piet on the aerial ring, workshops on parent-child acrobatics, diabolos, swinging cloth games and equilibristics, there will be musical entertainment in the tent in the afternoon and evening. The Bremen choir VOX BREMA, guitar music by Jens Meyer & Ralf Müller and indie singer Ni-Else will be performing.
Culinary needs will also be catered for: drinks, sandwiches, cakes, fruit, candy floss and hot soup between 6 and 7 p.m. will ensure your physical well-being.
In the evening, things will get rockier with VLcore, a young talent promotion project by Ingo van Lessen with Flinn (8 years old) on drums and Friedemann on bass. A highlight of the evening will then be the five-piece Bremen rock band Halftime, whose drummer Constantin Hussong can simply stay seated after their performance, because he will also provide the driving beats for the following act VAN LESSEN. This rock trio around songwriter, singer and guitarist Ingo van Lessen with Michael Reimann on bass will, in addition to new songs, make the circus tent swing groovily with guest musician Orpheus on solo guitar as a special treat. Ni Else

is the finest indie music from Bremen. The focus is on his characteristic voice in perfect symbiosis with the guitar. Everything else is added as required. While the first recordings are still in progress, here is the opportunity to hear the songs live. Ni Else creates a unique contrast between melancholic, thoughtful phases and distorted, loud outbursts. The next summer hit? Probably not. But a fascinating combination of profound lyrics, a distinctive voice and the right dose of drive.

HALFTIME BAND

When you hear Halftime for the first time, you ask yourself - what is that? Blues rock? Progressive rock? Hard rock? Funk rock? Is it still set in the 1970s or has it already grown out of the alternative sound? The truth is: the songs on "Halftime" are a little bit of everything, and the quintet themselves find it somewhat difficult to define their music. But one thing is clear from the very first moment, from the very first notes: "Halftime" rock! But in a very melodic way.

Halftime was founded in April 2019 as part of a band camp at the Friese youth center in Bremen. "Our chemistry was right straight away," says bassist Simon Hussong, who met guitarist Florian Schaub and singer Jette Goltz with his brother Constantin (drums) - keyboardist:in Mae joined later. Particularly noteworthy: "Halftime" quickly built up a live repertoire of around 90 minutes, consisting exclusively of songs they had written themselves.

No wonder that many people, including those responsible for the Treffen Junge Musikszene and the Bremen School Rock Festival, became aware of the young band. The five have already been able to gain a lot of stage experience, with established venues and festivals such as the "Lagerhaus", the "Meisenfrei" and the "T-Mania Festival" booking the quintet.

But this is just the beginning: "We still have a lot planned and we know what we can do," says Florian Schaub confidently. And Simon Hussong adds: "Let's see what else happens!"

VAN LESSEN
is the formation of the Bremen alternative rock trio VAN LESSEN around songwriter, singer and guitarist Ingo van Lessen with Michael Reimann on bass and Constantin Hussong on drums. The catchy songs are characterized by driving groovy beats with solo tidbits and powerful, sometimes polyphonic vocals that cover the entire spectrum from sensitive ballads to rousing rock songs. Always authentic: VAN LESSEN loves the music and VAN LESSEN lives the music. It's about personal moments of happiness and life crises as well as social and ecological challenges. Don't miss it!
