The City of Drums Black Label once again lets a few of its own protagonists take to the sliders in the Palais, namely newcomer Noxious Element, Yoshi, RN7 and Thomas Labermair. On this night, the four will be framed musically by Cottí Larje and Shapes of Mars.
Cottí Larje is the first to go all out. Inspired by the timeless techno tracks of the 90s and noughties, she creates danceable and emotionally stirring sets with ingredients mainly from the techno, trance, acid and dance genres. Her selection is electrifying and gets the hotsteppers dancing in rows. Behind the artist name Noxious Element, which was launched in 1993 and revived in 2021, is Oliver Kraus, who has been working as a producer and DJ since time immemorial and has a wealth of experience in the radio sector. His sound is electronic, irritatingly different and cheekily catches the ear. His releases have already appeared on the labels Evosonic, Dolma, BluFin, Harthouse, Volume Berlin and, most recently, City of Drums.
The next City of Drums act, Yoshi, will then take over the mixing desk. Born in Frankfurt, Aljoscha began his DJ career in the Munich underground techno scene in 2021 and quickly gained recognition and respect. His energetic DJing style is a mix of melodic techno, hard techno and acid. Recently, Yoshi started producing his own music and further refining his characteristic sound. After the co-op EP "Acid Rave" with label mate RN7, we can expect fresh solo material from him soon. Speaking of RN7: he already has a few more years as a DJ and producer under his belt and has already played in renowned Munich clubs such as DNA, Bahnwärter Thiel and Harry Klein, as well as attracting attention with gigs throughout Germany. His specialties are powerful peak-time techno beats and catchy melodies.
On this night, RN7 will be playing DJ ping-pong with Thomas Labermair, who has been a fixture on the electronic music scene for over 15 years. Some may know him under his former alias Somnia and as resident DJ at the Bullitt Club. Musically, the Munich native moves in an interesting field of tension between techno, psy trance, indie and melodic techno & house. With his new podcast series "California Dreaming", he also offers a platform for established DJs and local newcomers alike. He now also likes to share the decks with younger colleagues when DJing. Last but not least, record pro number 6 is Shapes of Mars, resident of the nex:us collective. He wowed the Raving Society at the Traumtänzer festival this summer and is also part of the DNA Club's permanent gene pool.
