s part of the celebrations for its 70th anniversary, the Italian Cultural Institute Cologne invites you to the performance Clown in Libertà by the company Teatro Necessario, which will be shown in our theater hall on December 15 at 5 pm.

As the title suggests, Clown in Libertà offers a euphoric experience with lots of fun and the catharsis that goes with it , performed bythree lively clowns full of childlike excitement at the thought of having their own stage and their own audience. Clown in Libertà tells the story of a strange afternoon in which three clowns try to put together a program to entertain, amaze and ultimately win over the audience, without any dialogue. In an effort to surprise and outdo each other, the action almost gets out of hand with fabulous acrobatic interludes, slow-motion duels, tricky jokes and breathtaking pyramids. The actual cohesion of the whole thing is provided by a musical accompaniment that underlines and gives rhythm to every action. The performance becomes a musical journey that takesthe audience on an incredible acrobatic journey thanks to the great physical talent and outstanding comic talent of the performers.

Teatro Necessario was founded in Parma in 2001 and has been programming and promoting contemporary circus and urban theater for over 20 years. Teatro Necessario's performances combine circus art scenery, theater techniques, mime, dance and music. Its scenic poetry is based on the power of non-verbal comedy combined with live music, offering the audience a popular, sophisticated, funny, light but never banal circus.
