Butcher Brown make music that sounds like an entire solar system. Solar Music is what the five musicians from Richmond, Virginia call their very own mixture of jazz, hip-hop, funk, R&B and soul, which makes categorizing good music into genres seem completely superfluous. Butcher Brown sound like the whole world - at least if you believe that everything under the sun revolves around the groove. Firmly rooted in the modern musical tradition of the South of the USA, from South Coast rap to Southern rock, the band also draws on an almost infinite palette of inspiration, treating the various musical influences with respect and at the same time questioning their traditional boundaries. The result is a unique balance of raw energy, untamed improvisational joy and light-footed elegance, with which Butcher Brown will be coming to Bremen for the first time this fall!
