Cold Years

After "Paradise", a politically charged look at life in their hometown of Aberdeen, and "Goodbye To Misery", released in 2022, Cold Years return in 2024 with their most triumphant album to date. "A Different Life" is a record that manages to make sense of a lost world.

"A Different Life" contains the singles "Roll With It", a song with one of the most infectious choruses that rock music has produced in recent years, "Radio", a cheerfully melancholy song about leaving the small town you grew up in, "Choke", a sharp criticism of the current political situation in the UK, as well as other songs. These include "Sick", an epic power ballad that addresses Gordon's problems with insomnia and the resulting negative thoughts about himself, and "Low", an atmospheric rock song that rivals any Green Day track on "American Idiot".

"This is the first time I've come out of a studio and been able to hear the tracks where - and I say this 100 percent with conviction - we did everything we wanted to do and more," says Gordon. "I've always come out with the feeling that we could have done something better or different. But this album changed the game for all of us as a band. We tried to do things a little differently. It happened naturally, and it's the best musical experience I've ever had."

Recorded at Barber Shop Studios in New Jersey by producer Brett Romnes (Hot Mulligan, Boston Manor, Heart Attack Man, Brand New) and mastered by Rogue Planet Mastering (Against The Current, A Day To Remember, The Bronx), "A Different Life" is packed with songs that are at once deeply personal and universally relatable.

Following the release of 'A Different Life', Cold Years will tour with Billy Talent, Bayside and The Dangerous Summer, playing a series of headline dates in the UK and Europe.
