CRACKS IN TIME AND THE APPEARANCE OF NEW GOD*ESSES

The philosopher Bayo Akomolafé explains that since the arrival of the first slave ships in the "New World", the global, collective pain has created cracks in time that have been expanding ever since. Deep within, evoked by the songs of the whales, new deities were born through these cracks. During the performance, these deities are invited to usher in a new age: The Age of Pleasure. The project explores queer, diasporic forms of spirituality and magic in a world characterized by horror and deep ruptures. Inspired by ancestral technologies and knowledge systems, decolonial philosophies and science fiction, CRACKS IN TIME AND THE APPEARANCE OF NEW GOD*ESSES searches for new myths based on care, hope and cooperative ethics.
