DARGEBOTEN | Drei Stunden im Leben der Rose Ausländer

In the organizer's words:

16 portrait photos of Rose Ausländer by Stefan Moses, poems by her, artists' pictures of her poems, further photos and chronological tables make the life and work of the poet accessible.

At the end of July 1977, the reporter from the magazine "Stern" Jürgen Serke
and the star photographer Stefan Moses visited the poet Rose Ausländer in her
apartment in the Nelly-Sachs-Haus, the retirement home of the Jewish community
in Düsseldorf. The appointment was for an interview for a series of articles entitled "Women write"
in the magazine. The photographer was to contribute the relevant pictures.

The duo stayed with the poet for three hours. The journalist wrote the article,
which was not published in Stern but in the book "Frauen schreiben".
Moses "shot" 70 pictures, 40 of which he considered to be very good. In fact, they were the best pictures ever taken of Rose Ausländer.

Helmut Braun, administrator of the author's estate and chairman of the Rose Ausländer Society, will talk about his experiences with Rose Ausländer and read her poems at the opening of the exhibition.

The exhibition can be viewed from August 31 to September 22 during the opening hours of the project store:
Tuesdays: 10 am - 1 pm and 2 pm - 5 pm
Thursdays: 10 am - 1 pm
Fridays: 2-7 p.m.

A finissage of the exhibition will take place on September 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. Helmut Braun reads from his book "Du hast mit deinen Sternen nicht gespart"- Rose Ausländer und Paul Celan. Was it acquaintance, friendship, love? It was speculated, rumored, claimed. Helmut Braun tells of the encounters between the poet and the poetess and the effects on both their works.

DARGEBOTEN (referring to the goods offered for sale by the market traders) is the exhibition series at Das PLUS on Neumarkt. Works of art, paintings, sketches, photographs, collages - anything goes.
