The starting point for Julia Voss' lecture is the painting "Reframing" by Sibylle Springer, which shows a family tree with internationally renowned female artists from the past and present. This painting can be seen as part of the exhibition "Just as we are" at the Museum Weserburg and serves as an anchor for a lecture on the position of women in art - then and now. Julia Voss, born in 1974, is a German art critic, historian of science and journalist. She works for the FAZ, is a professor at Leuphana University Lüneburg and published a biography of Hilma af Klint in 2020. Together with Daniel Birnbaum, she is curating the exhibition "Hilma af Klint and Wassily Kandinsky, Dreams of the Future" at K20 in Düsseldorf in 2024. The lecture is being held in cooperation with the Weserburg Museum für moderne Kunst and the Mariann Steegmann Institut. Art & Gender.
