Lady alone. Where she thinks she is safe, a letter reaches her. The masks of power fall and Lady Milford must search for her own voice. In our adaptation of Schiller's "Kabale und Liebe", the people rise above the boundaries of convention and Lady Milford is summoned as a witness.
I, Johanna Norfolk, shared the Duke's bed, was his mistress and was richly paid for it. That may be enough to condemn me morally. But it's not that simple.
