The story is well known: Prince Paris steals the wife of the Spartan king Menelaus, takes her to his hometown of Troy and thus triggers the Trojan War. This woman was none other than Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world at the time. And it is the beautiful Helen who lives on in our memories as "the bitch" for whose sake Troy had to fall after ten years of siege. What really happened? What did the victors' propaganda leave of the actual circumstances? And who is writing the story? The beautiful Helen - condemned to immortality and eternal aging by her divine father - takes the floor to tell her version of the story.

The multi-award-winning playwright Miguel del Arco is one of Spain's most prolific and successful playwrights. Saskia Leder, actress, director, stage combat choreographer and committed producer, is now bringing his play to the stage in a new adaptation. Searching for the human being in the myth, the result is a rousing performance that ranges from ancient tragedy to modern dance theater. Sascha von Donat's production impressively poses questions to the victors who write history and reminds us that history always depends on the perspective from which it is told.
