DAVID LYNCH: THE ART LIFE is a personal journey to the artistic roots and formative phases of the young David Lynch - a journey through idyllic childhood years in a small American town and into the dark streets of Philadelphia. On this journey, Lynch describes individual stages of his life that contributed significantly to his development into one of the most enigmatic directors of contemporary cinema.
High up in the Hollywood Hills, David Lynch provides an insight into his residence, his studio and the stories of the past. Enigmatic figures appear, disappear and become part of his artistic work.
David Lynch speaks openly about fears, misunderstandings, struggles he has lived through and overcome, the demons of his childhood and the many people who have shaped him. From a very early age, Lynch sees the world through different eyes, searching for its shadows and creating a dream-like confusion that captivates the audience and casts a mysterious spell over them.
