In Dazwischensein 8, Judith Egger invites you to experience the space of possibility in a completely new way. Bettina Khano's installation 'Hemdchen' provides access to a low corridor that leads into an artificial cave with small niches; the walls are difficult to see in the semi-darkness. It smells of earth and dried leaves. The artist has filled the niches with various video works. Egger's installation reminds us of our roots as living beings and shows us the cave as a germ cell and transformation space.

We also dive underground in the discourse room: the film program curated by Fabian Hesse and Mitra Wakil is a selection of works that address the local extraction of raw materials and the dynamics of extractivism. At the same time, it sheds light on the interdependencies of mechanization, automation and human labour within socio-economic structures - topics that are also important in the context of current debates on de-globalization in a post-colonial context. 'In-betweenness' here refers to an intertwining and interweaving of geological formations, labor contexts, technologies and the narratives that unfold around these themes and shape ideas of the future.
