Demografieforum 2024: Die Zukunft der Vielen

Demographic change is an opportunity for Dortmund! With the Dortmund Demography Forum 2024, we would therefore like to address the various aspects of demographic development at municipal level in the best possible way and shape the potential of Dortmund's "future of the many" in an intergenerational manner.

You can look forward to exciting presentations and discussions by renowned scientists and personalities, such as Prof. Dr. Martina Brandt and Prof. Dr. Aladin El-Mafalaani from TU Dortmund University.

Other speakers include gerontologist and lawyer Prof. Dr. Thomas Klie (AGP Social Research; Centre for Civil Society Development at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Freiburg), economist Prof. Dr. Jens Südekum (University of Düsseldorf and the German Economic Institute) and Diana Andrä, Head of Statistics at the City of Dortmund.

In the afternoon, sociologist, blogger, podcaster and author of the bestseller "Die Altenrepublik" Stefan Schulz will address the question of how demographic change can be shaped as an opportunity in an intergenerationally fair manner. This lays the foundation for the subsequent panel discussion: Under the title "Dortmund packt an", Lord Mayor Thomas Westphal, Stefan Schulz and Prof. Dr. Martina Brandt will discuss with Ali Rahimi, representative of the Care Leaver Network Dortmund e.V. and Gertrud Löhken-Mehring from the Dortmund Seniors' Advisory Council.
