In the organizer's words:

To put it bluntly, the small town of Güllen is an economically devastated provincial town where even the ICE no longer stops. How did it get this far? No one here has been asking themselves this question for a long time, because the situation is simply accepted as if it were the only possible thing to do. This reflects much of the character of the city's inhabitants: they simply let things happen.

But then the unexpected happens: the ICE suddenly stops again and a prominent visitor gets off - Claire Zachanassian. She has arrived from the USA, a generous patron with a billion dollars in her luggage, which she wants to donate to the reconstruction of Güllen.

The euphoria is great, the inhabitants are thrilled by this surprising stroke of luck and quickly lose themselves in a spending spree. But gradually the truth comes to light: Claire Zachanassian's true identity and the dark history she brings with her. The community is put to the test.

A "tragic comedy" that celebrated worldwide success and can now be seen on stage again - here at the Plärrer as a character play that takes the audience on an emotional rollercoaster ride.
