Der einsame Westen - von Martin McDonagh

In the Irish village of Leenane, brothers Coleman and Valene Connor return to their shared home after the funeral of their father. The everyday life of both is permeated by constant quarrels, which escalate more and more each time.

Father Welsh tries his best to mend the broken relationship between the two Connors, but fails permanently. Frustrated, he consoles himself with donations from Valenes' liquor stocks, which Coleman generously offers him. The alcohol stock is replenished by Girleen, who earns money by selling liquor and has a soft spot for the father.

After a tragic incident in the village, Father Welsh makes a last desperate attempt to get the eternal quarrelers to reconcile.
