To be or not to be a mother. The company missingdots stages texts by three authors on the subject of motherhood that are rich in perspective.
missingdots stages a play about people with uteruses and the collective claim to a say in the question of reproduction. Three authors write processual texts about symbioses, lichens, worn crosses, biological clocks, eggs, slipping knees, intergenerational motherhood, heroic women*, half-aunts and even foster mothers*. Chronobiology shakes hands with Rumpelstiltskin and the discourse is open. Now we're talking. "Missing dots" is a term used in printing and describes "missing halftone dots", i.e. missing areas in the print. They occur on rough or uneven surfaces of the substrate. It is precisely these gaps - the incomplete, often unnoticed areas in society - that the artists' network missingdots investigates in its projects.
missingdots is made up of professional artists from various disciplines who work together once or several times as a production collective. The collectives find their themes on the street, in schools, allotments, city districts or reception centers. In the artistic realization, stages are rearranged, public spaces are occupied, buildings are used and interactive audience arrangements are developed.
