With his novel The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald created a true masterpiece in 1925. He created an apt portrait of the "Roaring Twenties" in the United States, characterized by economic growth, crime and jazz. Enrique Gasa Valga has transformed the story of the young millionaire Jay Gatsby into a dazzling piece of dance theater. After acclaimed and sold-out performances at the Tiroler Landestheater, The Great Gatsby is now coming to Munich for the first time.

RICH, POPULAR AND LONELY

Jay Gatsby is a young millionaire who lives on Long Island and is surrounded by a fascinating aura: his dubious business dealings, his mysterious origins and his seemingly immeasurable fortune are the subject of many rumors. Although the world seems to be his oyster and he organizes lavish dance parties for New York society in his house, he is lonely. Daisy, the love of his life, has married someone else. When her cousin Nick accidentally moves into Gatsby's house next door, the two become close again. But then a fatal car accident sets a destructive dynamic in motion ...

THE 20S DANCED ONTO THE STAGE

Enrique Gasa Valga takes the audience into the party of the rich and beautiful with the dance theater The Great Gatsby. Decadent glittering decorations, sexy party outfits, shimmering jazz hands and flirty girls bring the "Roaring Twenties" to life. In a fascinating interplay of ballet, tap dance, acrobatics and jazz, the Limonada Dance Company brings the debauchery, idealism and social upheaval of the 1920s to the stage.

BING CROSBY MEETS MEGHAN TRAINOR

A 6-piece live band and the great singer Greta Marcolongo provide the swinging soundtrack to this glamorous society. Songs by Duke Ellington and Bing Crosby alternate with modern hits such as those by Meghan Trainor. Gatsby, Daisy, Nick and co. sing, dance and perform on stage to jazz, blues and free interpretations. Let yourself be carried away by this dazzling party!
