Originally, "Little Major Tom" offered its fans adventurous reading and listening fun, but now it is coming to planetariums as a fulldome experience. The audience can expect child-friendly edutainment for the whole family.

Peter Schilling and "Little Major Tom"
The children's book and radio play series "Little Major Tom" from Tessloff Verlag was based on an idea by Peter Schilling. The young astronaut has been delighting children since 2018. Peter Schilling himself is a singer of international hits, as well as a music producer and book author. Born in Stuttgart, he has always been enthusiastic about scientific topics. Many of these can also be found in his songs such as "Die Wüste lebt" and "Terra Titanic" - the best known of which is certainly "Major Tom", which initially conquered the charts throughout Germany and later in other European countries, the USA and Canada. In the radio plays "Der kleine Major Tom", Schilling himself plays the role of Major Tom.

SOFTMACHINE
DER KLEINE MAJOR TOM was produced by the production company SOFTMACHINE. The company was founded in 2001 by Peter Popp and is considered a pioneer in 360-degree film production. SOFTMACHINE offers first-class immersive content in 2D and 3D for digital cinemas, planetariums, science centers and entertainment parks and is now transferring its expertise to the production of VR experiences. The content has been translated into more than 25 languages and is shown in over 55 countries around the world.

Peter Popp
SOFTMACHINE is led by producer, director, writer and composer Dr. Peter Popp. After completing his doctorate and high-level management training at a German engine manufacturer, Popp became assistant to the commercial director. He then founded a film production company and has been working in this field ever since. Popp is considered a visionary and multi-talented creative artist with more than 20 years of experience. For over a decade, he has been a pioneer in the creation of 360-degree fulldome productions. His innovative films make a significant contribution to the creative process of fulldome film production and have won various awards at international fulldome film festivals. In addition to filmmaking, music is his passion. He also composed some of the music for his films himself.
