In Syria, in the big city of Damascus, lives little Nunu. And a little bird lives with Nunu. He lives in a pretty cage, but the cage door is always open. So the little bird can fly away and come back whenever it wants. Nunu has just fed it pieces of apple - its favorite food - when the little bird is already gone again. And precisely because it is often not here, but elsewhere, it is also called "Elsewhere". One day, however, Nunu and his family have to leave their home because war is raging in the city. Anderswo also has to flee. A long journey into the unknown begins and Anderswo wonders whether he will ever find his friend Nunu again.

"The Bird Elsewhere" is narrated and performed by the Syrian actor and puppeteer Soubhi Shami, who has been living in Leipzig since 2015.
