In the organizer's words:

Bird trader "Adam from Tyrol" and his "Christel from the post office" are deeply in love. They would both love to get married, but the mountain-climbing adventurer doesn't have the necessary change. When Christel approaches the (supposed) elector a little too aggressively in her search for a job for Adam and Adam makes eyes at the electress, the two of them really get into each other's hair. Can it all end well in the end?

Carl Zeller's "Vogelhändler" from 1891 is one of the top operetta classics. Hits such as "Schenkt man sich Rosen in Tirol", "Ich bin die Christel von der Post" and "Grüß euch Gott, alle miteinander" have made it world-famous. The story about a young love that has to assert itself against calculated striving for power, foolish intrigue, favoritism and genuine erotic temptation is basically timeless: in the end, the common man is superior to the "bigwig" and no man should make a woman "his own". Look forward to a lively, genuinely Bavarian reinterpretation at Gärtnerplatz!
