In the organizer's words:

A dinner with close friends and family. Literature professor Pierre Garaud and his wife Elisabeth have invited their childhood friend Claude, Elisabeth's brother Vincent and his partner Anna to their home. Because Anna is late, the conversation turns to her "condition" and the question of whether a first name has been found for the baby. Vincent starts a guessing game and provokes her by announcing that his unborn son will be called Adolphe. The debate about whether you can name your child Hitler is just the beginning of a series of sharp exchanges that bring surprising truths to light over the course of the evening.

"The First Name" has been one of the most frequently performed contemporary comedies since its premiere in Paris in 2010 and has been filmed twice.
