A high society party where no one goes home at the end - suddenly an invisible boundary holds the dinner party captive in the hosts' dining room. The cultivated etiquette of high society is quickly replaced by ruthless brutality towards one another in the face of the new reality of their supposed imprisonment. Class arrogance gives way to existential threat. After the audience favorite "The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie", the author duo SE Struck and Peter Licht have once again adapted a classic film by Luis Buñuel for a production by award-winning director Claudia Bauer. With biting humour and a contemporary perspective, "The Strangling Angel" examines a recognizable social class that becomes completely incapable of acting despite or because of all its privilege.
