Düsseldorf's large department store with a full range of goods and the grandiose address "Königsallee 1" stands for many different product groups.

With the former slogan "Everything under one roof", Galeria has become known for the diversity of a department store and has been popular with customers for a century.

A large "Handmade Düsseldorf" campaign with 5 designers from Düsseldorf is taking place at DFD! ("Shop window front Kö and sale in the department store") as well as Meet & Greet of the designers and manufacturers. A variety of other activities will delight visitors to the event:

Kö No. 1

In 1906, the competition for the Düsseldorf store of Leonhard Tietz AG marked the most important step for the developers of the Messels Wertheim buildings.

The Tietz department store was built from 1907-1909 in the Material & Monumental style, according to plans by Joseph Maria Olbrich.

The building has "considerable dimensions" and a "monumental appearance".

Separate exhibition and sales rooms, such as the costume room, refreshment room, carpet room and the art salon, were furnished with great expense, such as various types of wood and bronze.

It opened on April 6, 1909, as one of the most sophisticated buildings of its time.

The Tietz House in Düsseldorf set "new standards" to which the more recent buildings were oriented.
