Activists from Israel and Palestine report
Lecture series and discussion: Dialogue in war - activists from Israel and Palestine report.
The guests are the Palestinian and Israeli coordinators of the project "Wi.e.dersprechen - Dialogues across borders".
The Israel-Palestine conflict is a long-running conflict that is often perceived as deadlocked. It has dominated news and political debates around the world since October 7, 2023 at the latest. Since 2002, the project "Wi.e.dersprechen - Dialogues across Borders" (formerly known as "Holidays from War") has been facilitating two-week, intensive political dialog seminars for young Israelis and Palestinians in Germany with local partners.
Especially in the current situation, dialog seems a long way off - but the project's partners continue to work even in times of war. What motivates the activists? What does dialog work look like during war? What can it achieve? And why is it worth shaping and promoting dialog at grassroots level in particular?
On their lecture tour in Germany, the Palestinian and Israeli coordinators of the project will report on their experiences with dialog, the challenges of their political work on the ground and their perspectives for a just Israeli-Palestinian peace.
Most of the events will be held in English, with translation into German if required.
