Former model Lee Miller (Kate Winslet) is tired of being the object of her male colleagues and concentrates on her own work as a photographer. In the middle of the war, she goes to the front in France as a photojournalist and, together with her colleague David E. Scherman (Andy Samberg), documents the horrors of the Second World War for months. They are among the first photographers to be present at the liberation of the Buchenwald and Dachau camps. Lee's pictures become the most powerful testimony to those horrific crimes and are etched in history - but Miller herself will not let go until the end of her life ...
