This month we are watching CHRISTMAS OF THE ANIMALS together.

The animated film "Christmas of the Animals" tells five short winter stories with animals in different parts of the world. Each story was created by a different director and deals with the theme of winter and Christmas in its own way. What all the chapters have in common is that they are made with digital 2D animation. But how does it work? At the December meeting of the cinema detectives, we will take a look at how a movement is created from many individual images - using the example of the whirling disk, roll cinema and flip book. Afterwards, we will invent our own winter animal stories and bring our painted pictures to life with an app.

The cinema detectives

A movie club just for children: the cinema detectives! Every last Sunday of the month, we watch the latest film from the "KiKi" program together and then talk about what we experienced together on the screen. A media education activity adapted to the movie shown rounds off a successful afternoon at the cinema! For example, we go in search of clues in the projection room, make a flip book or our own movie poster, learn different film techniques or even shoot our own film scenes! Interested? Just join in!

We recommend the workshops for ages 6 - 10 (primary school pupils). Due to limited space and for better planning, please register in advance at service@schaubuehne.com.

A meeting of the cinema detectives includes watching a film together from 2 p.m. and approx. 1.5 hours of program, directly afterwards in the cinema hall. The movie ticket costs 5 euros per person. There are no additional costs and you don't need to bring anything with you. You can join the "Klub" at any time. Not all meetings have to be attended. Spontaneous participation is possible depending on capacity. Please ask at the box office when you can pick up your children.
