DIE Q IST EIN TIER deals with the question of why we humans still eat meat.

A cinematic experiment and a philosophical-political social satire on the subject of meat consumption, the meat industry and social norms - consistently conceived and realized in the form of a rural crime comedy, without any shocking images from factory farming and without pointing a finger!

In a cloak-and-dagger operation, slaughterhouse operator Werner Haas has offal dumped in his front garden. Furious, he reports the incident to the police and triggers a police investigation in which various villagers and animal welfare activists are targeted. The police investigate, while a dedicated volunteer for the local newspaper discovers inconsistencies in the expansion of the slaughterhouse.
