The opera singer Luitpold Löwenhaupt buys a goose for Christmas, which is to become a nice, fat Christmas roast. His two children Elli and Peterle intervene and quickly take the animal to their hearts. But the father is determined to have his roast goose. After some back and forth, Auguste the goose is rescued by the rest of the family. A Christmas fairy tale with table figures and the housekeeper Theres as "good soul" and narrator.
