Yes and no! With all due respect to Mozart and Schikaneder, Lukas Schrenk and Nils Strunk have taken the 200-year-old hits and given them a wide variety of styles. Suddenly the "Magic Flute" sounds like Falco, Queen, the Beatles or Adele. The story is the same, well almost, and has lost none of its thematic diversity. On the contrary. Because love, friendship and the smell of popcorn in your nose are still some of the best things in life today!

Leonard Dick and Andrej Agranovski are restaging the Burgtheater's success in their own style and with a new stage design by Alex Gahr. The magic in the title is writ large here and with Stefan Siebert, a new member of the ensemble and trained magician, they have the right man for the job.
With a lot of feeling and humor, they attach great importance to the right rhythm, not only in the music.
