DONATA WENDERS "Reading Time - Fotografien und Bewegtbilder" in der Leica Galerie

In the organizer's words:

Photo exhibition DONATA WENDERS "Reading Time" at the Leica Gallery

The exhibition comprises a collection of photo series in combination with video installations.
Atmospheric street photographs, painterly studies of movement and her
latest work "KOMOREBI DREAMS". These photographs, taken during the shooting of Wim Wenders' film "Perfect Days", give a unique insight into Donata Wenders' artistic vision and her ability to capture intimate and atmospheric moments.
"The first time I heard the word 'komorebi' and got to know its meaning during the preparations for "PERFECT DAYS", I was somehow touched to the core of my being. I realized: this will be the subliminal stream of the film, a subconscious flow in the mind of our hero, an awareness of the lights and shadows created by the sun, the wind and the trees. Filming Hirayama's 'komorebi dreams' became my assignment for the movie. Since then, my attention to light has changed. Looking out for 'komorebi' all over the city has rubbed off. I know now: they are something we receive as a gift, they come and go like grace. That's how I looked at them and photographed them." (Donata Wenders)
