STORY

Disguised as a "little man", the big industrialist Tobler is on vacation at the Grand Hôtel. The staff are forewarned, but mistake the man disguised as poor for Fritz Hagedorn, who is actually poor. The latter ends up in the suite, Tobler in the storeroom. They become friends, and with Tobler's servant in tow, the trio give the hotel staff hell with growing enthusiasm.

Shortly after the NSDAP seized power, Erich Kästner wrote a comedy of mistaken identity. He is only able to publish it under a pseudonym. Kästner exposes people's hypocrisy with inimitable ease. The team of authors led by Thomas Pigor translates this into music: reminiscences of colorful revues of the 1920s and 30s are refined with swing, jazz and folk music. The show full of fantastic catchy tunes drove the Gelsenkirchen audience to tears of laughter and is now finally returning to the stage.
