On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of Franz Kafka (1883-1924), the exhibition Kafka in Quotations approaches this fascinating modern author through quotations from his literary texts, letters, diaries and posthumous works. Beyond the great readings, the quotations provide direct access to Kafka's elegant and delicate figures of speech, to his philosophical aphorisms and pointedly formulated thoughts that inspire us to think or write further.
A wide audience has selected the text passages, which is what makes this exhibition so special. In a process lasting over four weeks, Kafka enthusiasts and interested readers were able to approach Kafka's work in publicly accessible locations (Munich Adult Education Center and Munich City Library) and vote on their favorite quotes. Kafka's readership thus shapes the face of this exhibition.
Vernissage on May 16, 2024 at 17.00.
