It was one of the blockbusters of 2021 and won over even the toughest critics with its visually stunning sets, a harmonious sci-fi atmosphere and a story that left you wanting more. 'Dune' by Denis Villeneuve was created by the visionary director as the prelude to a comprehensive film epic. The sequel promises to answer the audience's burning questions.

After a certain wait, the cries of enthusiastic moviegoers worldwide were answered: the sequel "Dune: Part 2" was given the green light. The theatrical release had to be postponed due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike. "Dune 2" will now be released in the USA on March 1, 2024, and the sci-fi epic can be seen here in Germany on February 29, 2024. The strong response from audiences and the correspondingly high cinema ticket sales are likely to have convinced the studios Warner Bros and Legendary to go ahead with the sequel. A whopping 40 million US dollars in sales during the pandemic were probably reason enough to finally give the green light.
