EarlSweatshirt 's unique voice and his mix of horrorcore, rap and alternative hip-hop have made him famous as a rapper, producer, songwriter and member of the hip-hop collective Odd Future. His debut album "Doris" took him to number 5 on the Billboard 200 in 2013 and also reached number 23 in the UK. His albums "I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside" and "Some Rap Songs" can also enter the top 20 in the USA, while songs such as "Chum" (124 million Spotify streams) and "Sunday" feat. Frank Ocean (78 million Spotify streams) alongside the one-minute "Riot!" (92 million Spotify streams) became real hits. As a feature on Frank Ocean's song "Super Rich Kids" from the Grammy-winning album "Channel Orange" (2013), Earl Sweatshirt gained further credibility in the US hip-hop scene and attracted worldwide attention. His current album"Voir Dire" (2023) shows once again how creative the music of the US-American is, who lives out his sound in a consistently versatile way. The artist will be coming to Germany for three shows in September.

Earl Sweatshirt (real name Thebe Kgositsile) was born in Chicago, Illinois. Until 2009, he released music under the name Sly Tendencies. In the same year, Tyler, The Creator invited him to join Odd Future after noticing Kgositsile's Myspace page and recognizing the talent in his music. With his debut mixtape "Earl" , he released music under the name Earl Sweatshirt for the first time at the age of 16 and quickly attracted attention, which was aided by collaborations such as Odd Future's "The OF Tape, Vol. 2" and Frank Ocean's song "Super Rich Kids". Signed to Columbia, he released his hit single "Chum" in 2012, which finally brought him his international breakthrough on the accompanying album"Doris" in 2013. While his early work was still characterized by horrorcore influences, his music developed steadily via "I Don't Like Shit" (2017) and "Some Rap Songs" (2018) and shows influences from jazz, soul and gospel ("Shattered Dreams"). "Riot!", the outro to the album released in 2018, outlines the artist's vibe in just one minute, which is relaxed yet playful throughout. After the "Feet Of Clay" EP in 2020, Earl Sweatshirt reinvented himself once again with modern synthesizers on "2010" and the accompanying album "Sick!". His latest album "Voir Dire"was released in 2023 and was created together with US producer and DJ The Alchemist. With a wide range, "VoirDire" is a versatile album that takes on many different musical facets between funky disco pop ("Heat Check"), lo-fi hip-hop ("27 Braids") and contemporary R&B "The Caliphate" and has delighted both the trade press and fans.
